Swatch x OMEGA Announce New MoonSwatch

Swatch and OMEGA have announced the latest addition to their MoonSwatch Collection: the "Mission to the Super Blue Moonphase" MoonSwatch. Quite a mouthful, but it's stunning. This release coincides with the blue moon occurring on August 19, 2024.

The Mission to the Super Blue Moonphase is constructed with a blue Bioceramic case, featuring a matching crown and pushers. The watch includes a blue VELCRO® strap, enhanced with light blue topstitching and an additional Bioceramic attachment loop.

The watch face, referred to by Swatch as a "blue and silver-opaline panda dial," includes blue hands and hour markers, and a blue Bioceramic bezel with a white pulsometer scale. This model includes a beautiful moonphase complication, displaying two oversized blue moons that rotate within the dark blue moonphase disc at the 2 o'clock position.

Under UV light, the moonphase disc reveals a detailed design with various shades of blue on the battery cover. It's a neat little detail that is sure to be a conversation starter among those who will sport this thing after dark.

The watch features a box-shaped biosourced glass construction with an etched "S" at the center, referencing the Swatch logo. The circular pattern on the dial’s outer ring, recessed subdials, sharp lugs, and Bioceramic feel are consistent with the MoonSwatch series. The indexes, hour and minute hands, and chronograph seconds hand are coated with Grade A Super-LumiNova® for readability in low-light conditions.

This limited-edition model will be available from August 1 to August 19, 2024, "only from 5 pm onward", at select Swatch stores. It retails at $310 USD.
